About Valentine Crush:

Roller derby skater Vicky Valentine gets in a little over her head when she meets her number one fan. Featuring great roller derby action scenes from the Sioux Falls Roller Dollz and their queer-centric sport, this film runs 64 minutes. Valentine Crush is a Sioux-Falls-made feature film produced and directed by Jamie Wede, written and produced by Leah Simmons.

Since its initial debut in 2022, Valentine Crush has won 10 awards and been included in 19+ film festivals nationwide. The film soundtrack is composed entirely by women artists and women-fronted bands.

Director Jamie Wede was nominated for the TCFF’s Indie Vision Award – Breakthrough Achievement for Music Supervision of Valentine Crush. Wede says he could have never done it without Tara Grimmer, assistant music supervisor and trans indie rocker from Minneapolis.

About the shorts:

"Eat the Rainbow". This short is an absurdist musical shot in San Francisco written, produced, and directed by Brian Benson (Howl, Diary of a Teenage Girl, Sorry to Bother You). Dolores Huerta has a cameo in the film as well as several Drag Personas from the San Francisco area and Valentine Crush director Jamie Wede, has a background role as an angry neighbor!

“Misunderstood Monster”. This East Coast short is a comedy of sorts by award-winning director Lindsay Serrano.
