When you finally embrace the gift of your sexual orientation it is the end; the end of shame, fear and oppression. You leave the darkness of the closet and begin a life of honesty, authenticity and freedom.

Bullying

The Center For Equality recognizes the dangers of bullying and supports bullying prevention programs. LGBT students at schools with comprehensive policies on bullying and harassment are much more likely to report harassment to school authorities who in turn. were more likely to respond effectively (source). The Sioux Falls school district introduced the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program in 2011 and has seen bullying reports go down since.  For more information on the Olweus Program visit their website.
